Louisville Thoroughbred Society Hosts “Brushes and Bronze” Artists Exhibit April 29

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – The three acclaimed equine artists whose popular “Brushes and Bronze” exhibition opened at the Louisville Thoroughbred Society (LTS) in 2024 will return for an encore on Tuesday, April 29 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Kentucky equine artist Jaime Corum, impressionist painter Lisa Palombo and bronze monument sculptor Jocelyn Russell will exhibit their latest works at “Brushes and Bronze: Riders Up 2025” — just ahead of the Kentucky Derby.

This singular evening event with the artist trio—plus special guest artist and Louisville resident Jeaneen Barnhart—is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is recommended: ltsociety.com/product/brushes-and-bronze-riders-up-2.

As part of the exhibition, 1997 Kentucky Derby champion Silver Charm will be honored at the event. Now age 31 and a resident of the non-profit Old Friends Retirement Farm in Lexington, Silver Charm is the oldest living Derby winner.

“We are delighted to welcome back these incredible artists for ‘Brushes and Bronze: Riders Up 2025,’ an event that beautifully merges the worlds of fine art and equine excellence,” said Erica Outlaw, president and CEO of the Louisville Thoroughbred Society. “This exhibition is not only a celebration of talent and passion but also a tribute to the legacy of champions like Silver Charm, whose enduring spirit continues to inspire. We invite art lovers, racing enthusiasts, and the Louisville community to experience this unforgettable evening at LTS.”

LTS is located at 209 E. Main St. in Louisville. The members-only club will open its doors to all visitors during the Brushes and Bronze event that also will feature special guests and celebrity appearances, as well as a Wine and Spirits Marketplace offering complimentary tastings from a variety of distillers.

The “Brushes and Bronze” three featured artists formed their collaborative in 2023 during the Secretariat 50th Anniversary tour honoring the famed 1973 Triple Crown champion. Through their unique talents and equine knowledge, each of the artists has played a significant role in carrying forth Secretariat’s legacy for generations to come.

Celebrated Kentuckian Jaime Corum’s equine art and portraiture has been featured in multiple publications and programs and she was selected as the artist of the Woodford Reserve Official Kentucky Derby Bottle for both 2022 and 2023. Corum was most recently honored for her towering three-story mural of Secretariat in Paris, KY that garnered national acclaim.

Contemporary American impressionist Lisa Palombo’s work has been featured on more than 40 book covers, numerous magazine features, and two special book volumes. She was recognized as the official artist for the 2020 Secretariat 50th Birthday Celebration and again in 2023 at the Belmont Stakes and the Secretariat Golden Anniversary art exhibition in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Renowned sculptor Jocelyn Russell’s larger-than-life bronze monument of Secretariat with jockey Ron Turcotte aboard (21′ in length, Lexington, KY and Ashland, VA) was a focal point of the Secretariat 50th Anniversary Triple Crown celebration cross-country tour at the 2023 Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes, followed by additional exhibitions at Saratoga Race Course and Colonial Downs.
